Autonomous All-Stars

I saw the other all-star threads and thought this would be a good one to start. Nominate any teams or alliances that had great autonomous modes, or modes that were particularly clever.

The best autonomous modes I've seen were 111 and 1625 at the Wisconsin regional (the only one I've attended). My team (1816) was lucky enough to be on an alliance with those two and it was just amazing to see them both score all ten balls for 70 points in autonomous. Side question: Has anyone else seen this at another regional?

at the Colorado Regionals, I think the best I saw in autonomous was 1158 and 159, there may have been more because I was the driver and me and our team strategist were constantly down in the pits planning for each match and then again I had to help fix up our robot of course.

Re: Autonomous All-Stars

The triplets are crazy in auton. I saw some very impressive consistency from them. At palmetto, team 11 got 30 auton points very consistently. (I'm still scratching my head why we didn't pick them)

Of course, there's us too. We score 8 out of 10 every match.
Oh wait, that's just what it does in theory.
Man, I wish that theory worked.

Re: Autonomous All-Stars

team 1726 had a very consitent 9-10 point low goal shooter that was unblockable. i watched their autonomous and i was amazed in their consistency and the speed of the balls as they flew out the front side of the robot. Makes me wonder why we didn't pick them for our alliance (no offense ot 568 or 835, you guys were great teammates).

Re: Autonomous All-Stars

At Phoenix, team 987 had an awesome autonomous mode, especially teamed up with 1241. Both could make almost all ten every time, and when we played them they clogged the center goal in autonomous!

Re: Autonomous All-Stars

Pink (233) had a wicked awesome auto. Many teams tried to block them (few succeeded), and they consistently hit 8-10 auto mode.

Of course after watching the palmetto webcast, team 11 had an amazing auto, hitting 10 for 10 in the finals on 3 + occasions

Re: Autonomous All-Stars

I'd have to say from the regionals I went to because i think it only fair to judge auto-modes based on actually seeing them thier are 2 that top the list.

1126 - these guys are unstopable in automode, 10 for 10 almost everytime.

217 - these guys are also unstopable, 10 for 10 in almost all cases

Re: Autonomous All-Stars

Not to toot my own horn, but:

Team 375 has consistently shot 7/10 or higher into the upper goal, and when blocked and hit, still managed to get 4+/10 balls into the goal.

703, once they got their speed under control and didn't try to bash through the Lexan.

Re: Autonomous All-Stars

There are some great auton modes out there, 233 comes to mind right off the bat from Florida, 1523 auton mode worked pretty well as well.

118 had a stinking amazing auton mode in the Lone Star finals. They got it going the way it was supposed to in the finals matches and it didn't matter if you hit them they were gonna make 10/10. The only way to stop it was 418 in the finals match hit them so hard that the robot spun around 180 and the camera couldn't find the center goal in time. Watch out for these guys at nationals what they've been able to do is pretty impressive.

Hey and don't forget those dumper bots hehe Its hard to discount the easiest 10 points in the game. I think it was 364 who had a pretty nifty auton where they drove to the opposite corner goal and dumped their balls there.

Hey team 85,469,1114,27,1503,70,494, and a few others i would have to check but these guys have great autonomous modes.+ the other 2 triplets but 1114 is the better of the three.

1272 and 322 were very good lower goal shooters, or dumpers if you prefer. 1272 were our parterns at Boilermaker and they made all ten just about everytime. 322 was the #1 seed at West Mighigan and could also score all ten.

There are so many robots out there that are good shooters in autonomous, that its going to be hard to name them all. Just like the the thread about Pure Shooters -- 2006 Hall of Fame. But we FIRST people don't give up too easily.
