We lost a student team member last year in a terrible accident around the same time of year. It gives you pause to consider the precious gift of life. Condolences to the family.

Re: A great Loss

This from Dillon's dad, team 1394's lead teacher/coach/mentor:

Our empathy, our team's spirit and our prayers go out to Andy's family, including his team. We all in FIRST know just how strong and deep are the ties that bind us together. Though we cannot for a moment know the pain of Andy's loved ones, we know that the loss of one is a loss for us all, and we will remember at the beginning of each meeting to spend some time to talk about where we are in the world, what we intend to do with our lives, and how we will commit to making certain that in every moment we will do what we do with reverence for the possibilties offered us. On a very sad day, let us all in FIRST re-commit to making sure we keep what matters most - our friends, our relationships, our family - firmly held in our hearts. In the end, it's really all that matters - the robots are just a way to get there more easily. God bless.
