I'm impressed so far. It does everything current calender software does pretty easily (I especially like how easily it handles repeating events, allowing mon-wed-friday by default). I'm also intrigued by the sharing features, which I am guessing allow people to share selected calender information. Looks nifty.

I haven't used any recent calender program like Ical or the recent outlook versions. Anyone willing to compare them? I know I already like Google calendar, if for no reasons other then it's Google and web based, so it intigrates nicely with gmail which has easily become my default mail address. But what is it lacking?

There are XML and ICAL buttons, which I'm assuming can be used to edit your calendar via googles interface or your own ( iCal, Sunbird, or whatever else supports ICAL format )

Re: Google Calendar

I had been using my @comcast.net address for so long via Outlook, but I was getting sick of not being able to check my date book and email from any location so about a month ago I made the switch to Gmail knowing that Google Calender would be out soon.

I work three jobs, all with unique scheduling, (Segway Corporate, Segway Dealership, and I am an independent contractor at C-SPAN). As of last night I signed up for CL2 aka Google Calendar and so far I love it. I do enjoy the preset Monday, Wed, Fri/ Tue. Thur. feature as well as how you can Google send reminders to your cell phone (with the exception of Verizon for some weird reason).

I think Google Calender is a good product and I look forward to using it more and more.
