RampCamper Hall of Fame

There are many RampCamper bots (shoots from the ramp)

Which 2 teams are your favorite. and Why? What makes them better than others?

Re: RampCamper Hall of Fame

I'd have to say my favorite, because they were our alliance leader at SoCal and led us to the regional win, was 968, would easily dump ball after ball into the center goal.

Another would have to be 599. During the qualifiers, they had used their strategy nearly flawlessly and had gotten on the ramp to dump their balls into the center goal. During the finals, the other alliance of 968, 1138, and 4 had figured out a strategy to counter that and so 599 had been stopped by 1138 and only had been able to get one ball into the center goal (if I remember correctly) during the three matches, first one being a tie.

Re: RampCamper Hall of Fame

its all about 254/968 and 703
the poofs/rawc alliance because that robot is unbelievable, beautiful, and functional
they led our alliance at socal and were so well suited to ramp camping that it worked out when we became a guard for them
703 because at GTR they could shoot 30 balls a round without a hitch until we stopped them in auton, they got on the ramp and could just get those balls in like nothing (amazing) but our "flying robot" saved the day

Re: RampCamper Hall of Fame

I'd have to sat 365 and 703. These are the only two that I have really seen. 703 is an amazing robot all around. They can pick up balls quick and efficiently. when on that ramp they are unstoppable. 365 loads by HP which gives them more points. When on that ramp they can score between 50-60 it seems like. Both are well built robots and if someone is blocking the ramp they shoot from the bottom of the ramp too.703 can also dump in the side goals.

Re: RampCamper Hall of Fame

My two favorites would have to be 222 and 365. MOE's shooting from the ramp can dominate; we found that out the hard way at Pittsburgh. And though we haven't played 222 yet, I saw them when I watched the VCU webcast. "Like shooting fish in a barrell" was definately right. I loved watching them, and I'm looking forward to seeing them in Curie in a week.

Re: RampCamper Hall of Fame

the one robot that did this that i have actually seen is 229. they did a magnificent job parking on the ramp and getting rid of all of their balls in a couple seconds.

another robot that i like that i have seen on webcast is 222. they are this little orange robot that sneaks onto the ramp and shoots vertically into the goal. they also seemed even when getting pushed, to get off the ramp before time ran out.

Re: RampCamper Hall of Fame

Well, I have only seen two, but I will post them anyways. 1276, BAE regional champion, is excellent at this. The only way to stop them from doing well was to stop them from getting up in auton. At BAE we played with them once and against them once. When we played against them, we managed to keep them from getting up on the ramp (we still lost) when we were with them we tried to keep everyone else from stopping them (and we won).

339 at Chesapeake did very well. We went with the strategy of keeping them from getting on the ramp, and it worked the first time but 1184 did spend the entire match keeping them off. The second match they got on the ramp in auto mode and 1184 spent the rest of the match trying to get them down. Conveniently, this left 1184 on our ramp at the end of the match.

Re: RampCamper Hall of Fame

The only way to stop 703 was to keep them off the ramp, they were awesome. I am shocked not to see them on the Atlanta list!

254. They get it done. Nuff said. Good luck stopping that robot because you'll need it...

Re: RampCamper Hall of Fame

177 prefers the term "bridge apparatus," but the best bridge apparatus we saw in our season would definitely have to be team 365, MOE's. They were only kept off the ramp once during qualifiers, and our alliance had to push them off the ramp during eliminations, and they still managed to shoot a couple in.

Re: RampCamper Hall of Fame

real life...at BAE 1276, Kaizen Blitz was a very good 'ramp camper' once they get up there, its like watching the top shooters, and there is not much you can do, since they can unload their hopper pretty quickly...one flaw, if the ramp is blocked, they can't shoot...

Gotta go with the Wo-Bots here - they were one of the few robots I saw who could proficiently shoot and dump.

254 hands down. Not to mention that if they can't get on the ramp, they're happy to shoot from below.

... and their twin, 968. Plus, if the ramp is blocked, and the floor in front of the goal is blocked, they can dump, too.
