Re: You know you've overdosed on FIRST when...
My team is a district-wide team for five teams. As a result, most of my classmates ask "Are they in robotics?" when I mention someone they don't know. Which happens a lot...
Also, my friend told me he had this conversation the other day: Friend: You know Ryan right? Person: Who? Friend: The guy in robotics. Person: Oh yeah I know him. |

Re: You know you've overdosed on FIRST when...
When every time you pass a house (or 23) while on your bus stop, you keep thinking about making a thread about how your life is "run by numbers", and no matter how you try to look at numbers, you just see team names.
When you have started associating your newer friends names with numbers.... It's easier to remember... |

When you come home with robot parts in your pockets. I came home with 5 spacers and an axel, as well as a battery connector and a servo!
Not to mention PWM cables, PWM connectors, a bracket, pneumatic fittings and tubing, etc, etc... Last edited by jwallace15 : 27-05-2013 at 15:08. Reason: Post I reported was removed and I couldnt delete the post... |

Re: You know you've overdosed on FIRST when...
....when you call your favorite mentor--who's now in Canada till next Build Season--crying to her about how you can't find all the drill bits....
....when that same mentor tells you that those drill bits are in the Guidance Departments minifridge.... ....when the day you come back from Regionals, you're supposed to be in religion, but you're teacher (who's also a mentor) needs her speakers from the workshop so you sprint down there, and slam into the work bench from the excitement of being around tools again... ....when you speak in code to the programmers in the off season.... ....during your computer apps class you have 10 windows up, 3 involving CD, 4 involving CAD, 1 involving youtube videos of BattleCry, and the last 2 involving team scouting.... ....the fact that my teachers allow me to sleep in class during build season, ask to be excused to go share a design with my teachers that are also mentors, and to use the SmartBoard during class to draw up a quick CAD design to email to everyone on the team before that days meeting.... |
