THANKS TO WOBURN TEAM 188 !

(Sorry this wasnt posted earlier, i was suprised when i noticed i didnt write it yet! )

This past robotics season, Woburn team 188 has showed loads of gracious professionalism by hosting us in Canada for the GTR regional.

We arrived from Los Angeles on tuesday night, took a bus driven by one of their mentors to Woburn H.S. and was greeted by a lot of friendly team 188 members and mentors. We had a quick gathering and went to our host houses.

Team 188 housed over 20 of us California kids, fed us, and even packed our lunches for each competition day. The parents treated us as their own kids, and the whole entire team treated us with endless kindness and gracious professionialism.

On Wednesday morning, we went to the Science Center, where we also watched a film on the Nile River in IMAX. We then went to downtown toronto where they made awesome tour guides & fashion advisors ( ), as we explored their malls.
We were then led to the CN tower. The view from the tower is breathtaking. Team 188 & Team 4 had a nice fancy dinner up at the tower and got to know each other really well.

They were amazing even at competition.
They made a great contribution to our "One Day Wonder" at GTR, they stayed as late as we needed to, helping us every step of the way.

Every competition day, their team would cheer for our team with us, no matter how badly we were doing. When we brought out our robot for the first time in the competition, they cheered even louder than we did!

Truthfully, they inspired our team to have team spirit.

Thanks to Woburn Team 188 (blizzard!!!!) ; and I hope you guys have a great time when you come back to California next year!

WE LOVE YOU

Re: THANKS TO WOBURN TEAM 188 !

We love you guys too. To all those who do not know the contributions of Team 4 this year, I think that it is perhaps best told by the fact that during the final closing ceremonies of Einstein. I watched their entire team selflessly take down the Archimedes and Curie fields at the end of a very long competition day, rather than sit back and watch the show like every other team and individual, myself included. Watching from the second deck, it was as if an army of ants was slowly but surely making its way down from one end of the Georgia Dome to the other. They did the exact same thing at Greater Toronto Regional and from what I understand, they traveled to UTC this year as well.

Last year a small team of advanced scouts witnessed the same thing at the inaugural FLR event, as well as our entire team in Southern California.

Team 4 has a history of putting the needs of others above themselves and it does my heart good every single time I see the friends I made two years ago enjoy their time at FIRST. No matter what point I have seen their robot at, their team is always ready with a helping hand, kind words, and a friendly wave.

Recently there has been talk about the focus of FIRST solely on the US, but no matter what the intent of the organization, committed teams like Team 4 will continue to influence and change lives beyond borders and nations.

A lot of things have influenced my time and experiences in FIRST, but working with Team 4 and members of Team 22 I count as one of the greatest and most precious memories. The feelings that I have for their team and their members can't adequately be expressed on this forum. When our lead administrator first mentioned the thought of a cross-border exchange, I jumped at the excitement, but never would I have imagined that it would lead to partnerships and friendships that would transcend my time as a student.

From everyone and anyone on Team 188. Just as big of a thank you goes out to your members and your mentors for being who they are. Now you've gone and made me reminisce .
