Re: pic: 931's 2007 design
Its one thing to joke about next years robot design, Its another to put up vessels, trains or other objects bearing your schools number and on top of it all you know the history behind not just a team number on the side of a ship or robot design.
Basically this is all fun and games for the sake of starting cool rumors but on the other hand what you are really doing is educating one another about history that just so happened to bear your team numbers - later on rep points shall be given and just so i don't forget to hand them out I will subscribe to this thread =) Keep up the good work. |

Re: pic: 931's 2007 design
The only 191 I could find was flight 191 out of O'Hare in '79. A painful memory in aviation history.

Re: pic: 931's 2007 design
Oh man.. first a submarine, and then I finally find a ship!!!
"USS McFarland (DD-237/AVD-14) was a Clemson-class destroyer in the United States Navy during World War II. She was named for John McFarland." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_McFarland_(DD-237) Creepy connection to CT as well. John McFarland (1840 – ?) was a sailor in the United States Navy and a recipient of the Medal of Honor. McFarland entered the Navy at Boston, Massachusetts, 24 December 1861 as seaman on Ohio, later transferring to Hartford in the West Gulf Blockading Squadron. Hartford: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Hartford_%281858%29 Her Anchor now sits at the University of Hartford. sweet.. Road trip time! Last edited by Elgin Clock : 06-05-2006 at 09:18. |

Re: pic: 931's 2007 design
That would be SSGN-587, the first nuclear powered submarine to be specifically designed to launch missiles. |

Re: pic: 931's 2007 design
USS Bridget (Hull No. 1024) was an escort ship. Its been dismantled and sold for scrap!!!
That's why we were thinking of something more like.... this: It's too bad that the 1,150hp engine might put us just a little over weight... but hey, that's what speed holes are for! Looks like '07 is going to be a pretty rough-n-tumble year... i wonder where the red, blue, and green lights come in to this -Q |
