Drive Motors

What motors did your team integrate into the drive system? I think the Martians had the Small Cim, a window and a fischer price. What did you do?

Re: Drive Motors

1251 used the big cim and small cim in a combiner 2 speed gearbox. The design was a bit over thought but pretty good for a first time custom two speed it pushed almost everything. I have some pics if you would like to see just pm me. Currently, working on the same motors in the KOP as last year we are designing a three motor 2 speed ball drive. This would use two small cims and one big cim per side. Were working on improvements for next year so all kinds of ideas are being thrown around.

Re: Drive Motors

in 2005 we had 4 small CIMs, two 6 volt fisher prices running at a full 12v and two speed shift on the fly transmissions. In 2006, we used 4 small CIMs and very small two speed shift on the fly transmissions.

Re: Drive Motors

Four small CIMs, divvied between two KOP gearboxes. Never a misstep from 'em the whole time.

We used 4 small cims in the KOP gearboxes, like the last five people or so. Next year, I hope we can get a couple cool multi-speed transmissions put together... *eyes 716*...

Re: Drive Motors

We used 2 small + 2 big cim motors in the AM 2 speed. Worked beautifully, and we're hoping to make a 2 speed we designed.

Re: Drive Motors

2 small cims in 2 KOP trannies <- bad idea, too slow, too weak, saved weight though!

For next year, 4 small cims between 2 custom made 2 speed transmissions that we're currently designing.
