Milling in NYC?
Like many teams we on 1155 have been without a mill or any milled parts on our robot for our first four years in FIST and were just about getting fed up with parts that don't fit right and weigh to much. We know the sorts of places in our area that offer milling services but we are clueless as to how good they are, and were wondering if any of you had either recommendations for milling shops in the Bronx area that you use or have used or recommendations on any good three axis mills with around a 40" bed and decent travel that wont bankrupt us and were we would be able to purchase them.
Thanks, Simon |

Re: Milling in NYC?
Is there a university or community college or junior college nearby? They often have machine shops that are way underused.

Re: Milling in NYC?
www.cncbotparts.com
www.dcwaterjet.com Some of these places might also be willing to provide sponsorship. I'd give them a shot; also Greg from CNCbotparts does AMAZING work. He's the man behind the mill for a lot of past and present battlebots. |
