2006 Arizona Regional: The DVD

I know there is already a thread for videos and pictures, but it was more about ones available online, and I don't want to have this go unnoticed either.

It has become a tradition to make a DVD for our team every year, and the past few years we have been getting very extensive in our video taping of the competition. I know we gave our DVDs to at least a few teams last year.

Anyway, our team DVD is well on its way (more than half complete), and will be ready for mass production soon. We have the entire match footage of EVERY MATCH AT THE ARIZONA REGIONAL. We also have video of all the awards, a slideshow of the season (for our own team so it's biased towards our pictures, but it conatins pictures of many robots in the pits and during the competition), and there'll probably be a few other things on it. It will probably be a 3 DVD set (Day 1 of AZ, Day 2 of AZ, and misc. footage including awards).

We are willing to make copies of this DVD for any team that wants it. Obviously it's meant for teams who went to the AZ Regional, but we won't mind giving it to other interested teams as well (for example, if SOAP wanted it so they could archive the matches online). Anyone who is interested please PM me about it; I know we can give every team at least one DVD, we can probably provide more but depending on the number (like 40 for one team) we might need you to buy the DVDs to burn or something.

We will also try to contact teams through website contacts and stuff later; if I cannot find certain team's contacts I will probably ask for them here later.

Re: 2006 Arizona Regional: The DVD

My above post is too old to edit, so I'm adding this here.

Please give me an e-mail contact in a PM if you are interested. I'm trying to get contact information for the mentor who does this, and he should contact you and figure it all out after that.

Re: 2006 Arizona Regional: The DVD

Once again I cannot edit the above post.

The DVD is completely finished. I just ran through a good portion of it today and have found no problems, so mass production is likely to begin in the next few days. Below is a summary of the 4 DVDs...

Disk 1
All of the matches from Friday are on this DVD. The matches can be navigated by team #, by match #, or can all be played continuously.

Disk 2
All of the matches from Saturday are on this DVD. The matches can be navigated by team #, by match #, or can all be played continuously. The playoffs are in their own menu which can be navigated by playoff match #.

Disk 3
The entire awards ceremony is on this DVD, and can be navigated by the award won (the team that received it is listed next to it), or can be played continuously. The National Anthems from both days are also on here, as is the alliance selection ceremony.

Disk 4
This DVD includes the Aim High animation, speeches by Steve Sanghi (CEO of Microchip, organizing sponsor of the AZ Regional), Dean Kamen and Woodie Flowers, John Able, Will Smith, Phil Gordon (Mayor of Phoenix), and Dave Lavery (some of these speeches are taped), the introduction of the judges, the introduction of the referees, video clips of the pit area, video clips of dancing on the field, video clips of shooter and robot testing for our robot, and a slideshow of our entire season. Kitchen sink costs extra.

Re: 2006 Arizona Regional: The DVD

We so far have produced 95 DVDs between those for our team and those we've sent to other teams. We have given them to a little over half of all teams from the AZ Regional.

We have tried to contact every team through at least one e-mail address. The list below is those teams from the AZ Regional who have either not responded, or who have but did not give an e-mail and address to ship to:
60
207
687
991
996
1070
1164
1212
1241
1290
1343
1401
1633
1717
1798
1917

If you're team is still interested, please PM me. We would like to at least make sure that every team at the regional knows we are offering this. Any teams not from the regional can still get DVDs too.

Re: 2006 Arizona Regional: The DVD

we are trying. We decide first semester before everything is due. We are trying to save to go to to nationals, so its LA, nationals, and then second regional on the priority list. Second regional is usually sacramento, but we vote anyways, but sacramento is on the same week as LA this year, but Arizona was great, so i think we may go again, but you never know. I loved riding the owner of MicroChips segway around and also sneeking out at lunch to go watch the offroad course next door that not too many people knew about. The guy who made the course let me and a friend go in a car that he was driving on the course. It was awsome. One of the best experiences ever. I loved this year.
