Maybe you have to grab the banana to cross the line and you can't get touched by your opponents (fish) or you get points taken away and you have to deliver the banana to a spot on the other side with out getting touched by your opponents. The three fish seem to be waiting for the robot to cross the line (which is underwater) so they can tag him or block him from getting to the spot.
