Re: What are your Team Colors??

Woah, bringing back a four year old thread. That has to be a record.

Oh, and maroon, which, for some reason we call crimson.

Re: What are your Team Colors??

Primary school colors are Light Blue, Black, and White.
Other school in the district (which we have like two-three students from at any time) is, I think, green and gold.

We are Yellow and Black, I am assuming that comes from the giant (Dad calls it tacky) yellow smile . What do 175, Buzz, and smiles have to do with each other? Absolutely nothing! (Unless no one explained it to me) But there are stories to all of them. Mostly people don't have trouble remembering our colors. (But no one ever wears the shirts to school.)

You wish. Fuschia is a pinkish type of color, not a blue. We're actually royal(?) blue and yellow ("official" school color is blue and white, I think.)

Re: What are your Team Colors??

Camouflage. Our robot was mostly green and if anyone saw us (team #1552) in Denver we were all wearing camo pants with green shirts.

(And yes, the shirts were "inspired" by the mountain dew logo)

Correction Caroline...

The Buzz and the Buzz smile have a lot to do with eachother. One year way back in the 90's there was a suction cup on the robot to pick up large yoga-sized balls. An engineer felt as though something was missing, and made a smile and placed it inside the suction cup. Hence, the Buzz Smiley Face.

And I layered with one of my Buzz shirts today.

I was aware of the story of how we got the smile! I just meant that the word Buzz (after Buzz Aldrin, yes?) was not related to the smile. We got the two separately, rather than having a name and a logo that are related. (Such as 33, the Killer Bees, there logo is a bee)

Re: What are your Team Colors??

Clearly Buzz Aldrin.

Hamilton Sundstrand SPACE Land and Sea has sponsored us since the beginning of the program. And Buzz Aldrin is a note worthy astronaut.

Which is exactly what I said. So thanks for agreeing with me.

I just noticed that we were in the original message, shows how much I pay attention!

Re: What are your Team Colors??

Orange and Black are the official colors of our team because they are the official school colors Our team shirts used to be a tie-dye orange. Three years ago; however, we made the switch to darker blue tie-dye (why blue? I have no idea) for our shirts. This year in Boston, we sported solid blue shirts on Saturday, in addition to our normal tie-dye on the other days. Our robot is usually orange and black, but the % of the robot painted varies year to year.
