Re: .mov or .swf to .DV utility?

Apparently it is an easy process with Quicktime Pro, but I don't have access to that. So does anyone know of a free .mov to .dv converter?

Also I found a video editor for Linux called Cinelerra which looks like it could do it. But the installation process looks rather involved, and I'm not very good at that kind of thing. Does anyone else have experience with it? I'd feel better trying to install it if I knew that it worked well.
Which version of iMovie are you using?
Are you using the menu system to import?

The older versions of iMovie would sometimes not import items using the menus, but there are two possible workarounds.
1) Drag the icon of the video directly to your iMovie pallette.
2) With iMovie closed, drag a copy of the video into the iMovie folder holding your video clips. When you restart iMovie, it will tell you there are additional items in the folder and ask if you want them added.

One possible shareware application is ffmpegx which I use when QTPro has difficulty with something.
