As for some speculations, we aren't using timing belt for steering: #25 chain ftw. We're sticking with as many things that we know how to use well, which is why I plan on going chain for that. I'm sure that timing belt is nice, but for a drive system as complex as this I want as many knowns as possible.

In addition to the CCT, like John mentioned, 217 also had a pretty sweet coaxial crab drive in 2003, that you can see here and here

C.H.A.O.S has never done a crab drive....but now that you mention it i think they are due.
