Re: Everyones Favorite part of Nationals

Hey that is what FIRST is all about, GP. Plus it is no fun going up against a "broken" robot. The intensity comes from both alliances at the top of their game, and that is what makes these competitions fun, Right??? And I'm sure my team agrees.

well in another note,

the whole rush of nationals, of waking up early getting all your team spirit gear on, rushing to the CNN center hoping to get your favorite frappuccino at starbucks, and then rushing to compete at the competition is soo much to take in. its amaaazzing.

Re: Everyone's Favorite part(s) of Nationals

Erm...
-Chai lattes at five thirty in the morning, while reading the USA today outside the door
-realizing addiction to said chai lattes
-noticing, yet again, how wonderfully cohesive my team really is
-sharpie fights with mentors
-really. good. food. We had Mexican, Thai, Jamacian, American (the list goes on)
-that groovy little vending machine for ipods and DVDs...pay with a credit card
-most of all, hanging out with my best friends in the world and rebuilding subassemblies on our robot. Well, building the 3rd or 4th or 5th incarnation of specific subassemblies...dratted collector...

Re: Everyones Favorite part of Nationals

My favorite part was seeing all of these robots that I only got to see on Chief Delphi prior to the event.

I'd watch 1114, 1503 and 1680 walk by, 494 and 70 walk by, 968 and 254 walk by, 179 walk by, 25 walk by. It was just an incredible feeling.

Then meeting one of the kids from 469 who could tell you every little detail about every robot in our division. It was scary.

"Yeah, our third partner is 650"
"Oh yeah, they have 6 pneumatic wheels"

No exaggeration.

Throwing a best friend in a fountain.
Meeting tons of new people
Seeing all my old friends
Working with FIRST

My best memory of Champs? Hard Rock with 384 & then a close family friend two days later.

Off topic, but I'm doin it anyways. Hi Travis, Kirk. Can't wait to see you guys next build season. And Thanks for choosing Lombardi's, Travis , the prices were great, kinda. And you still owe me you know what, you know when. At least your Spaghetti was nearly edible . See you next year. PS, have a great summer and enjoy your time away from us "Kiddies", it won't last long.
