I have recently purchased 2 used Radguard vpn routers. Both display invalid data key on the LCD screen.
I so far can;t find any information about this error, and any info at all on these devices. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it. |

According to this article, Radguard is history. They will not be providing you any support any time soon. Here is a quote from the article. "In the parlance of The Princess Bride's Miracle Max, VPN vendor Radguard is not just "mostly dead"; it's "all dead."" Here is a link to what appears to be an Operators Manual for a Mobile, ie. PDA, Client for use with this VPN Router. Better yet, it includes a section on configuring the router for use with this client. This document, though it is written on how to get the Radguard to work with Snapgears' VPN router, has a section on configuring the Radguard as well. It may give you some insight to what's happening. Here is a quote from this article. "Radguard and ADI were fairly weak in reporting; their messages were rather sparse and cryptic, and not very informative at first glance." That doesn't sound too good. Lastly, these guys sound like they may be able to help. Good luck, I found not a single hit while searching their site about your error massage. Although, I didn't try contacting them. That might yield better results. |

If all you are doing is turning them on, without hooking them to a network, they will not receive the public key. And will display invalid data key. If they are setup on a network then you may need to go into the router [telnet in or us IE (usually IP addy 192.0.0.1), there most likely will be a username/password pair required] and reconfigure them so that they both will use the same protocol and public / private key (you may be able to do this by setting them back to factory defaults and having them hooked together and 'find' each other). Also make sure they are both using the same encryption security protocol (Kerberos or DCE). Good luck getting them to work. |
