Vex for the Technically Challenged

I have just uploaded a white paper entitled "Vex for the Technically Challenged" (it was too large to attach, and I had to eliminate all of the photos to get it uploaded). It is a guide designed to help the 9 start-up teams in my area, none of which has any FRC experience, and only one of which has FLL experience (my team). None of the coaches is an engineer (one is a stay-at-home mom without any college degree). It is woefully incomplete because I had hoped to post it for corrections/commentary, then revise before the fall began. Unfortunately, the next 3 weeks will be taken up with another project, so I couldn't get it as far along as I would have liked before seeking corrections. I consider it about 2/3 done.

Does someone have a good written explanation of how lifts work? That's something I couldn't get a good grasp of. Also, has anyone built or seen built a 2-axis linear grip made out of Vex parts. Also, if you think there are other additions that should be made, I would appreciate suggestions.

If I don't respond immediately, I haven't forgotten you. After 3 weeks, I should be alive again.

The material is way too easy for anyone who currently reads these forums, but know that you can be a part of helping Vex expand into FIRST's frontier "white space."
