Website Comments
Hey I'm part of my team's web team... I am trying to re-vamp the site during the off season. I am trying to add a "comment" or "Shoutbox"(much like that of a MySpace Comment) by using a phpBB hack from here. I was wondering if anyone knew how to make this work (or if it is even possible). The reason i'm tryiong to use phpBB is because i want people to have to register and login to be able to leave a comment.
thanks, Sam EDIT: I should probably post the link to the hack i wanna use. ( i also plan on dissableing the forum "features" since we already have Chief Delphi) Last edited by SamC : 14-06-2006 at 20:56. |

Re: Website Comments
Yes, it's possible. I'm not sure how well documented that particular mod is (I haven't tried it); but, the ones from http://www.phpbb.com/mods/ tend to be quite well documented with step-by-step instructions for installation (and there's a shoutbox there, too); so, if you don't end up getting anywhere with your current solution you could try one from there.

Re: Website Comments
Hmmm. I've never used that hack before, but i'd suggest using the shoutbox code here: http://fusionphp.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=10391
It's pretty easy to install, and easy to customize. (if you know CSS, anyway) XD There is one on my team's site, if you'd like to see an example. Last edited by DotCom : 29-07-2006 at 09:39. |
