Apple WWDC Announcements (already!)
Hey everyone, it's CD's biggest Apple fanboy reporting from my bedroom about the newest announcements made at the Worldwide Developer's Conference...
For those who don't know, this is a big Apple convention that introduces the newest software/technology to developers. This year, a few things were announced... -A new Xserve, which includes a 64-bit Quad Core Intel Xeon processor -A price drop on the 23-inch and 30-inch displays, which are now $999 and $1999 respectively -A sneak-peak in OS X: Leopard -The introduction of the Intel version of the PowerMac, the Mac Pro It's only Day 1, and Apple decided to kick it off with a bang by introducing a new Mac computer that is fully customizable. Infact, according to Apple, there are over 4 million configurations... -Holds up to 16GB of RAM -Holds up to 2TB of Hard Drive space (four hard drive bays) -Holds up to two 3Ghz Dual-Core Intel Xeon Processors -Holds the following: An ATI Radeon X1900 with 512MB, an NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 with 512MB, or up to four NVIDIA 7300 GTs (256MB each) -Holds up to two SuperDrives Of course, as the old saying goes, that's just the tip of the iceberg =D (Also, please lets not go off topic with things like technical problems with earlier Macs, telling us to get Windows (especially when most of us have it already), etc. It's quite distracting =/ ) Last edited by Brian Lesser : 07-08-2006 at 15:29. |
