teams near lombard il. (chicago suberbia)

Thanks all who responded to my previous thread. After collecting information from that thread I realized exactly what I had to ask. For starters, I’m moving to a Western suburb of Chicago (to be precise Lombard). According to my dad this is about 30 min from Fermilab for those of you who know particle smashing (Fermilab being farther to the west). The two main questions are

1. Is there any team that would be willing to help a rookie team even starts its existence?(a thread already has a list but i dont know exact locations(relative to lombard)
2. Anyone familiar with the area do you have an idea of where I could get a sponsor?
3. Simular to sponsor... does anyone know where i can get mentors?

Wildstang is about a half an hour away from Lombard, you might want to try contacting them. Also team 9 is about 30 mins away. According to the FIRST website, they are both willing to mentor rookie teams. Good luck with your new team.

Wildstang is very close to you. If you find some interest in your high school we will do what we can to help you get started. We will come and talk to students parents and teachers and demo a robot for you. Just let us know. You can PM me here when you start school and have some info. I check CD often.

Wildstang would be the best team to help you out. I mean, isn't that what Wildstang is for? Reigning Chairman's Award winners. I wish Wildstang could get more interest from the schools in our area.
