Ok, I may have answered myself tonight. I realized that this was occuring when I started the robot when it was not connected to the serial port of the computer with radio off. When I connected the robot to the computer before turning it on, I found that there was no activity when I downloaded the program. Not sure if it is just a coincidence or not but it seems to be helping.

I remember this happened last year to us. We had one of the intelitek guys come over in between matches and we found that the CPU got damaged. We replaced it, and then it worked fine.
