Re: Attention Michigan Teams!

This is great news for new MI teams.

A couple of points grabbed my attention as I read the quote:

1) $150,000 divided into $6000 registration fee grants would start 25 new teams. Thats a whole state's worth, on average.

2) Matching funds are required but teams can count fair market value of engineering time and donated materials as matching 'funds'. This should be a relatively easy burden; many companies routinely bill out engineering time at $100 per hour, so two engineering mentors donating 30 hours each might satisfy the matching funds requirement. This is much less time than many FIRST mentors contribute to their teams.

I believe in intuition and inspiration. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real factor in scientific research.
