Re: NFL Pickem Week 2

Sunday
Buffalo at Miami-Buffalo is going to play Miami hard but their poor quaterbacks will lose the game for them.
Carolina at Minnesota-This is almost a pick-em if Steve Smith isn't fully healthy. I still like Carolina on the road
Cleveland at Cincinnati -This is a no brainer, the best offense in the league (Take that INDY) against an average D is a recipe for disaster.
Detroit at Chicago-UPSET I may sound like a homer but Detroit's Defense is pretty good, slowing Shaun Alexander down, and Thomas Jones is less of a back then he is. 6-3 Detroit
Houston at Indianapolis-Yeah this is going to be ugly. The worst team in the league is going to get destroyed.
New Orleans at Green Bay-I'm not going to lie to you here, this is a pick-em as well. Green Bay has no defining skill, while New Orleans will have at least some form of offense.
N.Y. Giants at Philadelphia-I love McNabb but Eli Manning is looking ot rebound from a tough loss.
Oakland at Baltimore There is plenty of romm on the Baltimore Bandwagon, for everyone to jump on now.
Tampa Bay at Atlanta-I can't pick Michael Vick ever, It jsut can't be done, I'm sorry. He just isn't a quaterback.
Arizona at Seattle-It won't be hard for the Seahawks to beat the wildly overated Cardinals.
St. Louis at San Francisco-San Fran is a lousy team and will be beaten by the pretty good St. Louis Ram team.
Kansas City at Denver-Kansas City will win this one, in a Mile High Shoot-Out
New England at N.Y. Jets-The Jets are not that good and will be killed by New England.
Tennessee at San Diego-San Diego won a game without really even throwing the ball, expect that to continue here.
Washington at Dallas-Washington's offense looked pathetic last week, struggling against the Vikings
Monday
Pittsburgh at Jacksonville-The Pittsburgh defensehas is excellent and will shut down Jacksonville.

Re: NFL Pickem Week 2

Decided via Canadian quarter coin flip (we'll see how many people it beats)....

Queen Elizabeth is the 1st team listed; the elk (I think it's an elk) is the 2nd team listed

Sunday
Buffalo at Miami
Carolina at Minnesota
Cleveland at Cincinnati
Detroit at Chicago
Houston at Indianapolis
New Orleans at Green Bay
N.Y. Giants at Philadelphia
Oakland at Baltimore
Tampa Bay at Atlanta
Arizona at Seattle
St. Louis at San Francisco
Kansas City at Denver
New England at N.Y. Jets
Tennessee at San Diego
Washington at Dallas
Monday
Pittsburgh at Jacksonville

Darn that Queen Elizabeth II. I had a feeling she was a Stealers fan.

I'm thinking more like 50-60. The over/under is 44.5

Can you explain to me what exactly a quarterback is.
To me a quarterback is the person who manages the game on the offensive side of the ball. The offensive leader. For the past two games, he has ran/thrown for 4 touchdowns combined.
You may say his number are low. But then again, look at the percentage of run plays that the Falcons call. Also, Vick is in the west coast offensive. Mostly little short routes. He completed 66% of his passes. I would say that aint to bad...

Re: NFL Pickem Week 2

i have always said that mobile quarterbacks don't work. they may do good in a season they may even make it to the NFC championship game. but have you seen one win a super bowl. and by mobile quarterback i mean that they run more then they throw. Vick will not last as long other...non running quarterbacks in the league. i mean look at mcnabb...hey was all like ooooo imma run all over the place...then he realized that throwing for 300 yards and 3 tds is better then running for 100 and a td and only throwing for 100 and a td and maybe not even throwing a td. and yes he may have thrown for 66%of his passes but thats easy wen you only throw 20 times a game if that.

Re: NFL Pickem Week 2

This west coast offense that the Falcons are running first off doesn't allow Vick to throw for many yards. Also, the Falcons call many more run plays than passing plays. Vick only had 15 attempts to throw the ball. I am sure if he had like 30 attempts he would have doubled his total.
Donovan McNabb 1-1
Michael Vick 2-0 (with 6 fg's missed)
Vick did not get hit very much yesterday either. I can only recall him getting hit like twice. And one time was a sack. usually he just runs out of bounds now that Grady Jackson informed Vick that other teams are told to hurt Vick if htey have a chance to.
By the way, Steve Young, he won a few superbowls...

You mean a running QB. A mobile QB would be guys like Donovan McNabb or Tom Brady. Someone who can move around in the pocket and avoid the rush.

Re: NFL Pickem Week 2

My biggest complaint with Vick is he doesn't stay in the pocket to make a pass. Smart Defenses will work on keeping him in the center of the field and preventing him from outside movement. I really think Vick should decide to become a running back. The Falcons could set their team up like this-Matt Schaub QB, Vick-Hybrid RB, Warrick Dunn-RB. Schaub would run the offense primairily and they would move Vick around RB and QB switching by play, think Pittsburgh an Randle El only with a running back.

They're paying Vick too much for him to be anything but a QB.

Plus, there's no way he lasts in the league if he takes the kinds of hits a RB takes every play.

Re: NFL Pickem Week 2

Yeah. Michael Vick is getting $100 million+
His job is to help the Falcon's win the game.
Last season when he had his highest passing total, they lost.... to Green Bay.
Vick has had a coupl plays in which he lined up as a WR. He isn't the tallest player in the world.
Trust me, no one in Atlanta would ever want him to be a running back. Everytime he gets hit, everyone in the dome holds their breath till he gets up for obvious reasons.
Thes smart defenses you speak of. The Panthers are supposed to be a good smart defense. They didn't look too hot last week.

The Canadian quarter flip beat four players and tied 4 others. I think he has a future in game prognostication. He shall return for another week.
