Hey,

I'm just starting VEX this year and I'm wondering, when is vex revealed and at what time? (eastern hopefully)

Also, I don't quite understand the system. Is it, we can register and build the robot anytime we want, as long as we sign up in time to participate in our regional event?

Last question, what is the usual budgeting for VEX. We currently have $800, but we are starting 3 teams for 3 schools. So... Help?

Basically, yes. You can register now (in fact, I'd recommend doing so), start building the robot (and remember to document it in the notebook!), and register for your event when that time comes. That time (and build season) will vary depending on the tournament--check with the local contact for details.

The registration for a team is $275, and you can get the FVC Bundle Kit (which is $675 worth of Vex equipment) for $375. Of course, if you've already got Vex parts by the truckload, then you can skip the latter. Then factor in tournament registration fees (last year's was $200, this year's will vary), travel costs (gas ain't cheap), and any hand-outs/T-shirts/spirit items your team way want to create. Just like in FRC, sponsors are more than welcome.
