This is probably true since 1978 didn't actually register until early January (they had trouble organising their team and getting funding, so they ended up registering late and only having about 3 & 1/2 weeks to build their bot). Unless there was another late registrar I think they'd be last.

Re: New FIRST Teams

Don't they typically round up to the next even hundred when they start numbering rookie teams nowadays? That's what they did back in the day when I was starting teams.

Re: New FIRST Teams

Hey there..
I went back and looked for the past 5 years...
highest 2001 team on list 716
lowest 2002 --- 743 highest 2002 999
lowest 2003 --- 1000 highest 1237
lowest 2004 ---1241 highest 1496
lowest 2005 ---1500 highest 1708
lowest 2006 1710 highest 1979

Not sure if there is any pattern there... difficult to tell with some team numbers missing as teams have left... but it doesn't look like they rounded up to the nearest 100...

It is interesting that in 2002 the highest number was 999
and the first number of the next year was the 1000th team number..
That was the year my original team was a rookie... I remember trying to get on early to get a number....but my school server didn't cooperate... lol
we got 18th (Team 1018) As a good a team and number as there is!!!!
Go RoboDevils!!!!

Hard to discuss a link - is what it is.

I don't see a debate, I see a discussion.

This is in the general forum. The description reads "general FIRST discussion"
