During Dave Lavery's trip to Antarctica, he suffered from severe frostbite and required extensive constructive surgery. The doctors were overheard saying, "Dave Lavery, FIRST Mentor extraordinaire. A man barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first robotic man. Dave Lavery will be that man. Better than he was before. Realizing that even the world's best engineers sometimes forget to look at the calendar, Andy Baker developed a personal assistant robot to handle some of the more mundane clerical tasks required to keep him at the right place at the right time on the right day (and with the right photo for the weekly caption contest).
