I think this is brilliant. If this were on a robot it could sense targets better like the lower goals this past year and other robots and the ramp. But what would the rules say about having a 5 foot wisker (in diameter) on your robot? Would it fold out or something? And how much would it cost to implement on a FIRST robot. Although the idea sounds cool, I do not think it is practical for FIRST.
