Looking for Logos (Ford, GM, DCX)
Calling all teams sponsored by Ford, General Motors, and Daimler Chrysler!
I'm looking for hi-resolution (300 dpi+, 3"x3" minimum) color logos for these three companies, to be used in print and on team apparel. They are Team 857's main sponsors but, unfortunately, we have no direct contact with them. They grant money to Michigan Technological University, who hands it down to us. Because of this system, the University has one Ford/GM/DCX person who has contact with all of these companies. I've been trying to get in touch with him for seven weeks and have not gotten a reply (emails, phone calls, messages left with his secretary, personally going to his office - you name it!) and because of this, cannot get copies of the logos. I need them so our design team can work on this year's t-shirts and swappables! If you can help me out, please e-mail the logos to klreynol @ mtu . edu (no spaces). Thanks!! ![]() |

Re: Looking for Logos (Ford, GM, DCX)
I've no links to offer, but a comment on those brandsoftheworld links. The super shiny looking logos are almost certainly useless for t-shirt design unless you're making a transfer. I'd go with the flat looking single color ones. Also, even if you get the logos from other sources, I'd still keep after your probable sponsor contact. Companies have very specific rules about the use of their logos, down to what pantone colors you're supposed to use for them. He's your best option for getting with the PR people that can tell you all that.

Re: Looking for Logos (Ford, GM, DCX)
When seeking logos for any large company, call their main number and ask for the Press (or Media) Relations department. These folks will have everything you need; your regular contact probably would probably just call the same folks. They can also offer advice on the proper and improper use of their logos.
Even though they are a sponsor, please remember that their logos are copyrighted and often trademarked or registered. That means you cannot use them without their permission. I doubt they would bring you to court, but they could, or at the least stop being your sponsor. Get written permission. Also, the logo is a representation of their company, and how it is used is carefully specified. Please respect their brand and logo and find out what proper usage is. Don |
