Do you mean renowed in the FIRST community or the ChiefDelphi community?
In the FIRST community it's how well they build machines. How reliable they are as a alliance partner. How helpful they are as a pit mate, how graciously they carry themselves and manage to stand out in the ever growing crowd of FIRST. In the ChiefDelphi sense it's the perfect storm of visible team members, strong robots (while the off field awards are nice you notice a good portion of the threads lean towards gushing over teams that succeed on the field) and an ability to stand out from the FIRST crowd.
