Re: Please Vote!

The funny thing about voting for the next presidential election is that I will be two days too young to vote for it! Oh well, that is what voting for next year will be for i guess.

Re: Please Vote!

[begin $.02] Yeah, I'd vote (or my parents would), but we can't, seeing as we're not citizens, but we have Green cards and can live here as long as we want (legally). I think it's stupid, in my opinion. [/end $.02]

I second the move to vote when possible. The U.S. preaches democracy, but when it comes to voting, we're not that great an example.

I wish I could vote, but being underage and all, I can't. However, my friend's mother is running for village trustee where I live, so I'm kind of interested in finding out how things go.

What is dumb? That non citizens (even with Green cards) can't vote? This is just my own $0.02 but does the country that you came from allow non citizens to vote? But even if they could the agendas of people running for offices, and those voting would all change. All of a sudden their is a new "group" to try and please. Now this is definitely not meant to offend anybody and i am in no way against the idea of Green cards, immigration. etc... All i am trying to say is that there are some rights reserved for citizens only, even though visitors still have some...

I'm leaving now to go vote, Mr. Surampudi.
And I'm also going to vote for a super size fries, a cheeseburger all the way, and a large diet coke. (Voting makes me hungry...)

There are plenty of really good reasons why only citizens retain the right to vote, most having to do with protecting a democracy from an orchestrated attempt at overthrow.

I pushed the big red button sometime after lunch. (Well, it wasn't particularly big, but it was a flashing red light.)

Of course, none of the four big races are going my way, but there's always two years from now.

Re: Please Vote!

I am proud to have voted yesterday.
I am also proud to say that I actually broke the electronic voting machine. Talk about something I will never forget... it ate my card and froze. It was kinda exciting. They reset it and I had to vote on another machine.

I was very discouraged during my first period class when my teacher asked who voted and I was the only one to raise my hand. Don't let this happen at your schools! Bring friends with!

Talk about 'fair' election..........you never know whats going on behind the scenes; computer malfunction, programming errors, miscounts, etc etc
PAPER BALLET all the way!!

But oh well....... Elections are over. Democrats are taking over the house. VA race was a pretty tough. Did you guys hear about the marriage amendment? Apparently in VA, marriage amendment passed (stating that marriage is only between man and woman). So what now......Republican White House and Democratic Congress....... At the same time Rumsfield resigns..........any particular reason ?_? Yesterday was pretty much one shocking news after another. (Not to mention situation with Brittany Spears )

Imad

ps I don't want this to be a political battle ground now
