Re: Segwii

After braving the cold outside Target last night, I got to play my Wii this morning. At Target, some guys had an inverter and were playing Super Smash Brothers: Melee in the back of their van, but it would have been a lot cooler on a Segway.

I am amazed at how intuitive everything is, although I feel that sometimes the controller is misinterpreting what I am trying to do in Wii Sports. I haven't had a chance to play any other games yet, but the system is really nice and I love the change from a typical controller system to something completely new. I can't wait to see what kind of games developers come up with for the Wii, because it seems like a really nice platform.

That the Segway and the Wii are easy to learn and intuitive to use is a sign of the quality of the engineering and design that went into them.

Those were good times. We'll win next time.

I agree with you on the controller not correctly interpreting what I want to do. That could also be because we're not used to it yet. I'm sure it'll come naturally over time.

Agreed. I had a chance to play Wii Sports for several hours on Tuesday, and I was amazed. Tennis and Bowling were both right on. Wii Golf was pretty difficult when it came to putting though. The controller seems to have difficulty interpreting small motions making it very difficult to putt. I'm sure I could figure it out though eventually though. Wii Boxing was far too entertaining to watch. Personally I'm waiting for a Wii FPS.
