Hello everyone,
I've just finished installing the camera on my team's robot and I have just a few questions. -I've installed it exactly according to Kevin's CMUcam2 FAQ and I get a green light when I turn it on, so I'd say the wiring is all correct. -I've installed labview and downloaded the CMUcam2 viewing panel so nicely available on this site By default, how should my computer be connected to the robot to view this data? Which ports should it come from/connect to? Does it merely have to be tethered? Also, a completely irrelevant question: Do the servos on the camera also get power from the backup battery? I know this is a very simple question, but it's just something I wanted to find out before I go in to work on it today. Thanks you guys ![]() |

Re: Small, very easy Labview question (Hopefully)
The labview application connects directly to the camera. Disconnect the the cable from the camera to the robot and connect a 9 pin serial cable from your computer to the DB9 serial port on the camera.

Re: Small, very easy Labview question (Hopefully)
Run the power cable to the Digital Ports or Analogue Ports so the camera runs off the main 12v power.
It's better to hook the servo's to the RC as it doesn't require you to keep restating the camera if you want to manualy move the servo's. Even better is to fix the camera and let your robot be the servo. ![]() wow I just noticed how old this ![]() |
