Re: SNOW DAY

On Thursday, it was about 67 outside, which is ridiculously unseasonable for New England in almost-December. Tomorrow, it is going to be near-freezing with a 70% chance of snow showers.

Can't it just hold off for three more weeks until break?

Any time your team wants another teambuilding exercise, they can come up north and shovel together... I'm sure there are lots of northern mentors who will be glad to facilitate a session for you!

Re: SNOW DAY

Around here, it hardly ever snows before January. It's great when there's snow on my birthday, which is already a three-day weekend (Martin Luther King Jr day). One year I had a four-day weekend because of it! Talk about great birthday presents.

Re: SNOW DAY

Thanks guys (KathieK and Skimoose) - if we ever did something like that, I think our 'materials' packing list would have to include boots, parkas, warm gloves, and hot chocolate.
Jane

edit/additionally:
to the team building exercise list:
sled
saucer
warm fire in a fire place

to do list:
snowball fight
snow angels
build a fort

gosh that would be fun, really fun.

Where are you getting this "20-ish" figure? That's only high in the mountains (Sierras or Big Bear), not in L.A. We have to watch out for fire weather; I'm sorry to see Moorpark is getting hit this time. I'm sure a little snow would be delightful.

Re: SNOW DAY

if you get cold real easily or arent used to the cold then long underwear, i spent my snow days in shorts and a short sleeve tshirt, except when i was shoveling snow, i would have worn shorts except the snow was almost up to my knee

How does the relative humidity there compare with reports from southern California as low as 2 percent today?

Some rain here would be really nice--within the next 100,000 seconds.

Re: SNOW DAY

We got some flurries on Thursday night. It was during a lecture in robotics and someone said "Hey, it's snowing!"

Utter chaos occured for about 30 seconds, and order was returned by hitting pieces of metal together. Loud noises get people quiet. fast.

Unfortunately, none of it stuck, and school was completely unaffected. Oh well, I gues i'll have to wait for January for a snow day.
