St. Louis FVC Championship

Congratulations to all the participants in today's St. Louis FVC Championship Tournament. The competition was much tougher than I had expected to see, with many very close matches and some high scoring. There were several robots that could hang consistently and a few that could rack up impressive high-goal scores.

I'm sure that there will be complete results and some pictures posted on the St. Louis FIRST site sometime soon (EDIT: results are up now):

Inspire award:
1288 from Francis Howell District Schools, St. Charles, MO (#11 seed and #6 alliance captain)

The winning alliance
2145 from Gateway HS, St. Louis, MO (the #1 seed and Innovate award)
2124 from Wayne Township, IN (#5 seed and best high-goal scorer)
3216 from Rockwood School District, Wildwood, MO (#12 seed)

The runners-up
3037 from St. Josheph's Parish, Crescent Springs, KY (#2 seed and Amaze award)
3010 from Hazelwood Central HS, Hazelwood, MO (#3 seed)
3344 from the St. Louis Science Center

Connect award
1777 from Overland Park, KS

Think award
3184 from Parkway HS, Manchester, MO

EDIT: and special thanks to Dan Green of FRC 111 for an outstanding job as emcee!

I believe in intuition and inspiration. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real factor in scientific research.
