When someone at your University mentions a Segway and manages to get the concept completely wrong. An argument ensues, to which two of you respond "look, I've met the inventor, I know what a Segway is" at which point you realize that you were both on first teams (both UTC teams in fact) and start to go on about championships and regional’s and sponsors...

And your friends can chime in on the discussion, even though they've never even seen a FIRST competition because you talk about it too much.
(We're going to get a team going up here, I have faith. And nerds.)

when your more concerned about the '07 FIRST game then your girlfriend
when every other word out of yur mouth has anything to do with what was in the kit........or what wasnt...........
when you are stuck onn the fact that it was all %$&@@'s fault 2 years after the fact.
when you preach gracious professionalism to the world
when you open up a church of gracious proffessionalism
when you try to get your home state to recognize gracious professionalism as a ligit religion
when you read the first hand book like you read the bible
(all of wich i wish i did)
if your christmass list is more like a team parts list than anything else
if you are the FIRST to have your cell phone signed by WOODIE FLOWERS
(at least thats what he said, and i have it to this day, not only that but i show it off more then i aknowalege the fact MORE then that of my actual meeteing with the president of the united states.)
but finally you know your overdosed on FIRST when you can refer to DAVE LAVERY, DEAN KAMEN, and or WOODIE FLOWERS as your close personal friends, and are doing so in every day life.

YOu know you've OD on FIRST when you dream of how to better your robot and what a good drive train reduction would be. Or what would make you pit and your team safer or better luck at winning a safety award.

Not that i would know that form experience or anything

When you have a BS2 kit on your Christmas list.
When you have a multimeter on your Christmas list.
When you convinced your mom to give you your birthday present early so you could use it to take pictures at the state FLL tournament. (Canon PS A540)
When half your friends want you to post pictures from a party and the other half want the pictures from that FLL tournament.
When you've convinced about 15 of your friends to join the team.
When you're sick and a bright monitor makes you want to die, but you turn down the brightness and check CD.

Personally i don't see the problem...
multiple times in this thread people have felt the need to point out other threads like it, yet people have continued to post more and more on this thread. If a thread remains active, lively, and has people posting, then there's no problem with it. After all, forums are for posting! So if people are posting, there's no issue

I have no problem with multiples of these threads, as long as they are in the right forum. To me, that is the Chit-Chat forum. I wish a moderator would move it...

When you plan a rip-off of a funny Nextel commercial involving FIRST robots. (Check youtube sometime soon to find it...as soon as we film it, hehe...)

When a valid excuse (in your mind) for having no homework completed is "It's robotics season."

When your teachers accept the above excuse.

When the electronics teacher unlocks the computer lab early every morning so you can play with Inventor drawings of the robot.

When you have to choose which will be the last thing you fit into your backpake - the homework or the robotics notebook - and the robotics notebook wins by a landslide.

When you temporarily forget how to think due to sensory overload after an all-day meeting on kickoff.

When you're already so tired you no longer have control of your mouth and what comes out of it. (Don't ask.)
