Every year I spend the first weekend of build season re-learning POV-Ray so I can produce some really nice ray-traced renders of the FIRST field. While they serve almost no practical CAD or animation purpose (each image takes ~5 min to render), they make excellent desktop wallpapers. I'll be rendering for a while more tonight and updating the website, but to make the process quicker I decided to post what I have so far and ask for requests (screen resolution, camera angle, etc.) for renders so I can add them as I go. (I've already got driver's-eye-view-obstructed-by-ringers-on-the-rack rendering.) I'll also upload the POV-Ray source.
Hooray for MIT bandwidth.
