We are doing the same thing with a 4WD chassis. Just get a longer bolt and run it through the wheel, and through both sprockets. Then bolt it down.

what kind of bolts might those be? i know it says somewhere but i am going dumb now that its 11pm

I believe they are .165" holes. Standard 10-32 bolts/nuts from lowes will fit.

8-32 not 10-32. took us an hour at home depot to find 2" 8-32(its a bad home depot)

Are you sure? On the AndyMark site it says the holes are drilled for 10-32.

Mounting Holes
6 holes (0.165") for #10-32 screw on a 1.875" dia bolt circle. Threads will need to be tapped into these holes.

whats even stronger is to drill out the holes and use 10-32 or M4x0.75 through bolts

last year we used long bolts and simple home made spacers and it worked great. Just be sure to use loctite or they will work loose.

This is possible and we have done this in the past. If you are going to do this you have to consider several items.

Any slop in the Bolts and holes will give you a potential failure point from the sheer forces. This will be exacerbated by the slop in the housing.

Things to consider

Oversize the holes on the wheels to .1875-.189.

Add Spacers (Aluminum will work) to the sprockets try not to use a hub on the sprocket for weight.

C’Bore the sprockets for the spacers

Use Socket Head Cap (Ask a local machine shop or Hardware store, not Home Depot, Allen or Holo Krome) screws, as they are harder and will provide the strength.

Use ny-loc nuts for later removal

Do a PM (Preventive Maintenance) between matches and have spare screws
