Sorry for not explaining it,

A host family is a family that houses team members. Basically members of a team will be assigned a family to stay with during the competition. That family will be responsable for the safety and well being of the members assigned to them. That family will feed the members, give them a place to sleep and make sure they arrive at the competition on time every morning.

Does that clear things up?
