Thumbs down Autonomous and user controlled mode switching

As a rookie team, we are all having fun figuring out how all the parts of the electronics system work for the first time...

One thing I have been trying to figure out is how to switch the robot from user controlled mode to autonomous mode. I have seen information on a dongle similar to the emergency stop dongle we have. I need to know how to make one of these, or where I can buy one. Just a link to a good page would be great.

Thanks,
Mark

Re: Autonomous and user controlled mode switching

If you build one, be sure and double check the pinout on the DB15 connector. If you get them backwards, it will blow out the operator inteface conroller.

Re: Autonomous and user controlled mode switching

You can put the disable and autonomous switches right on your OI, then you always have a disable switch hooked up. Then when you have a match, just unplug it and plug in the competition cable. When the match is over, plug it back in so its ready to use in the pits. This way, you will never loose your disable / autonomous switch.
