access error

Hi,
When I start up Mplab on my school's laptop it load for a little bit and then it displays "access denied" then ends mplab.

I'm just wondering if the account I am using have to be an admin because I’m using a 'student account' on it

also my os is Window XP professional

Re: access error

I know for a fact that you don't have to be an admin to run mplab. Are you sure that it is already installed?
If it is, there is nothing you can do but contact your IT department.

Re: access error

Show them that it doesn't work. They probably set the permissions for the program wrong.

Re: access error

that pretty definately sounds like a permission issue. the tech people for my school have mostly lightened up on programs, partly because students kept ignoring the blocks, and mostly let anything run.
