Only 4 Victors and no Spikes? Sounds like quite a "tidy" robot to me

thats just the beginning... thats currently only the drive, and we are going to need a few more victors on there soon and maybe one or 2 spikes. We had to have the electronics done for monday when a rep for the PA state congressmen Jim Gerlach comes to see our team and what we do, and we wanted a moving robot for him to see.

Re: pic: Team 1712's 2007 Electronics Board

how exactly do you connect the entire distribution block together? i see that the yellow strips connect the 4 same-color blocks, but how do you connect the grey ones in there? is it something on the underside?

The Gray ones are just separators between the positive and negative and personally I'm not a big fan of this years power distribution only because they look like Lego's.
Anyway I love your all's board and when I get mine the way I want it I'll post a picture of it but lets just say this for now... I'm dyslexic so everything is going to be fliped so to say at least if I get my way. But still very good

Two DIN rails come in the kit that hold the blocks together. The blocks slide onto the rail with the grey separators so that you can mount more sets of blocks or other devices. The rails that come in the kit are longer than what's in the picture, but the rail in the picture was cut to a shorter length to fit on the board.

Looks nice... my experience with VEX parts... particularly the spacers... is that they tend to vibrate loose fairly easily. I'm sure if this is a problem that you will discover it during testing and solve it, if you haven't accounted for it already.

Yes, it looks very tidy right now. We're shooting for a very tidy electrical board. Right now it only has 4 victors for our arms. The victors for the drive will be right next to the motors they work with.

And I see two lexan panels. What is the purpose of this?

More victors or spikes will go on the lower level. We have two levels in order to maximize horizontal space, while we have plenty of vertical space within the chassis frame (see this picture).

what worldbringer meant to say is that the second level is reserved for the speed controllers and spikes allowing easy access to them and the larger parts are down below. We currently look like we are going to be adding a combination of spikes and victors up to 3 or 4 more to the existing 4 that are just for the drive system.

Which number loctite? I have heard of teams melting spacers before with the wrong kind.
