Post Questions about the engines.

Hey there, I've a few question about the engines:

A) May we use self-bought engines (engines which were not included in the box set)? If yes, what are the restrictions?
B) How many engines may we use? Is there a restriction at all?

Thanks in advance ;-),
-Yuval Bertocchi of Team2230.

Re: Questions about the engines.

The "engines" are called motors in all the FIRST documents.

"Section 8 - The Robot" on this web page

http://www.usfirst.org/community/frc...nt.aspx?id=452

has information about which motors you can use. You can NOT use motors that are different from the motors that come with the kit. You CAN use two more of the black CIM motors (total number = 4), and one more of the largest black Fisher-Price Mini-bike motor (total number = 2).

For more information about the motors in the kit, read the "FIRST guidelines, tips, and good practices" manual that is found here:

http://www.usfirst.org/community/frc...t.aspx?id=4054

Good luck! if you need more help understanding the documents, please ask, we are here to help
