Re: How far are you on your robot?
Like many Central and North Texas, Oklahoma teams, the Icy weather shut down school for two plus days and was a real momentum stopper. I think we may be gaining some ground that was lost but on the positive side the the programming team is very much ahead of past season's work. They are using the 2005 robot which will be of the same drive type and it has a camera mounted and being tested on a complete rack system. So some pluses and and some minuses and such is life working with teenagers

Re: How far are you on your robot?
We are behind. I just finished the bare chassis tonight, and we will spend all of tomorrow bolting on stuff (baseplate, motors, electronics, etc). We were anticipating having the bare chassis done by the beginning of the third week....leaving the 4th and 5th for the manipulators, and the 6th for programming, testing, etc. Hopefully the chassis will be done 100% by Wednesday....which means another late weekend in the shop this upcoming week...

Re: How far are you on your robot?
We've got the chassis done with the stationary portion of our arm tower and the robot part of our ramps on as well. Wheels, sprockets, and transmissions are mounted along with the wood for the electronics board, and programming has working drive code as well as having proved most of the sensors we're using will work. Parts of our arm are done as well, just not assembled.
This week we want the chassis to be drivable and enough of a control board to control it; also most (or all) of our arm should be attached, and on programming I hope to finish both our automatic and manual arm control code. Of course we'll see how mcuh our hopes line up with what actually happens. |

Re: How far are you on your robot?
We're just under half done. Practice bot should be done midweek according to the mentors, and metal cut for the real deal next weekend. We are pretty close to schedule.

Re: How far are you on your robot?
id say we are on schedule, we aren't behind but we have many parts of the robot being processed at once.

Re: How far are you on your robot?
Applying the finishing touches for the drive and one "scoring system", and building the other "scoring system".

Re: How far are you on your robot?
Team 1345 is on schedule, we should have the robot done (mechanically and electrically) by this saturday. After that, we got a whole week to play with the code. 6th week will be used for lots of driver practice.

Yeah, we have 2 rolling chassis's and some of the electrical finished such as the camera ad stuff like that. The arm is coming along as far as the drawings are, but some fabs are being completed.

Re: How far are you on your robot?
We have just completed a bare chasis with wheels. Other than that we have done some work on our programming and electronics and our VEX bot is almost done, but we still have a lot of work to do on the big robot. But were getting closer everyday.

Re: How far are you on your robot?
Some major setbacks today. Chassis was giving us trouble with the bolt holes lining up....
Also, our big order from the Robot Marketplace never came in. We talked to them, and they never even got our check, which we sent two Saturdays ago. We are entering week 4 without the drive sprockets, shaft, chain, and flange mount bearings. Looks like we will have to put in an identical order with McMaster tomorrow and hope that we will have enough time to finish in time...right now we are still shooting for having it done by the beginning of the 6th week, but it might not happen. I won't be able to make it to the meeting tomorrow, and we are losing friday (school's are closed). Hopefully we can get our McMaster order by Thursday so we can work late that night and all day Friday to get this thing moving....Wednesday when I return the only thing to do is to complete as much of the chassis as we can, then start work on the manipulators...leaving one week for dialing in that and the last week for testing. Re: How far are you on your robot?
Due to a few glitches in how we were expecting things to run we are behind schedule. Hopefully we will be able to double the number of meetings and get back on schedule.
