Re: DAQmx VIs missing
Those files are installed with the Driver CD bundle - the kit you received of LabVIEW CDs contained one disk for LabVIEW and 3 disks for the Drivers. You need to put in the first Driver CD disk and install the Driver CDs, those will install the necessary DAQmx files.

Re: DAQmx VIs missing
Oh, I reread your post, and that's very interesting. You probably have DAQmx installed alongside with LabVIEW 8.0 from last year, no? That version of DAQmx isn't compatible with LabVIEW 8.2, so it isn't associated with "LabVIEW" it is associated with "LabVIEW 8.0". What you need to do is install the driver CDs included with LabVIEW 8.2, those will install the proper drivers for LabVIEW 8.2 and will also upgrade the drivers for LabVIEW 8.0.
Hopefully I haven't confused you yet. Just keep this in mind: The DAQ drivers aren't "drivers" in a pure sense, they should be considered "add-ons" for specific versions of LabVIEW. Move up to the new version of LabVIEW and the old "add-ons" won't be associated with the new version of LabVIEW. I believe we're up to NI-DAQmx version 8.4 (on the Driver CDs that came with LabVIEW 8.2 should be NI-DAQmx version 8.2 or 8.3 if I recall correctly, either of those should work fine). -Danny |
