I am a geek because...

I always tell my friends im a geek and not a nerd. They ask why, i said because nerds are the ones who play D&D. ( No offence ) Ill proudly be a geek.

I actually have known it the other way; "geek" seems to have a negative connotation, whereas "nerd" has a cool factor to it. My OCCRA team has dubbed me "Turbo-nerd"--hey, that reminds me of "Turbo-tax"...awww, my nickname just lost its shine...

I would tend to say "geeks" are the ones who play D&D...and I play StepMania on the keyboard, does that count for anything?

No, it was actually meant as a joke towards myself; I don't think that it's strange to come into FIRST with programming experience, only because I did. Many, many teams are programmer-less because there isn't enough experience out there. Yay for being a nerd!
