Internet radio thread GO!

Alright guys! If you listen to internet radio streams that you think are mostly good, post them here.

Some of the songs are good and some of the songs are bad, but it wouldn't be radio if it wasn't like that.

Digitally Imported - Trance: http://di.fm/mp3/trance.pls

Trance is usually either really good or really bad. These guys are mostly really good.

XTC Radio: http://stream.xtcradio.com:8069/listen.pls

Sometimes good, sometimes bad, it really varies in qualitiy.

Proton Radio: http://protonradio.com/proton.m3u

I like these guys some times.

ormgas - the unnoficial OCRemix Radio: http://ormgas.dracoirs.com:8000/ocRelay.ogg

Usually good stuff.

All of those aside from ormgas are default with Amarok and I'm too lazy to go find more radio stations. I guess that's half of the reason for making this thread, eh?

So let's see what you like to listen to.

Re: Internet radio thread GO!

This isn't a specific station, but I use something called Last.fm.

You can listen by downloading a client, or through the website (the client is better). Last.fm lets you put in a keyword (tag, usually a very specific genre or category) or an artist name, and then in automatically generates a radio station track by track with music that either matches the tag, or that is similar to the artist. As you listen, you have the option to Love or Ban a track if you particularly like or dislike it. The program continues to generate the streaming radio, but keeps a record of what you Love and Ban in order to choose tracks that you are more likely to enjoy.

The program can also run alongside plugins to music players (Windows Media Player, iTunes, others). When the plugin is turned on, it uploads to a server a record of the songs you listen to, which also helps it choose music that you might like. This information is also used to generate charts of the worldwide popularity of albums and songs.

It's a great way to discover new artists that you'll enjoy.

The $3/month subscription gives you a faster connection to the website, and special stations such as "Recommended" or "Loved Tracks".

Everyone knows that Time = Money and Knowledge is power right? It is also known that Power = Work / Time. So then we substitue Power and time so Knowledge = Work / Money. Then we solve for money and get that Money = Work / Knowledge. So, As Knowledge approaches 0, the more money is made regardless of how much work is done.

Now we know that the less you know the more money you make, even with close to no work!

I listen to Sirius. I pay for their monthly subscription and get free internet radio. I also browse my friends myspace's or favorite artists websites and listen to the music on there if i'm browsing the web.

I often listen to NPR's news stream, and occasionally to specific programs I missed.

Re: Internet radio thread GO!

Well I went on shoutcast (I actually found it by mistake because the newest version of Amarok had it built in this time) and found this one station called AnimeYume.... They play all sorts of stuff.

So, I listen to Digitally Imported - Trance and AnimeYume mostly now.

I have a last.fm account but I only use it for the audio scrobbler. Both the scrobbler and last.fm radio are built into Amarok natively, which is good. So I pretty much do all of my audio stuff in one player.

I usually just watch the news on the TV or read it on the 'net.

I'll be sure to check this out later. My 3 favorite genres are trance, anime and Jazz, which would give me radio stations with all 3 of my favorite genres if I like it.
