Trouble Loading vista??

Did you have trouble loading Vista? I bet not as much as this guy.

At least it worked on one of his machines. I tried vista a couple years ago in a beta stage and I didn't like it too much.

Same here. I think it was mostly because of the fact that my computer is slow. Plus other flaws found here.

In before the Mac fanboys claiming Vista. sucks. I've run it. I liked it.

I ran it... It's decent. But then I found a theme and a couple apps that did all the new features for XP, which is much more stable, and has a lot more support, and so I'm back to that. Once Vista is stable and has proper support, I may consider switching over. But I'd rather not until I have to... Then I'd have to reset all my Inventor settings.

This post certainly has me thinking: has anyone ever been able to install and run Inventor on an Intel Mac through Darwine? Or how about SolidWorks? Or are these applications too "Windows-based"?

I know some of these have trouble installing into Linux through Wine, so I would probably expect similar results through Darwine on OSX. But I don't think this'll prevent me from at least trying it when I get my new Mac Mini.

Inventor has had a lot of problems on Vista for some people. Inventor on Vista doesn't have support from Autodesk yet.

I don't know about Darwine, but I've read that people successfully run Inventor using Bootcamp. A quick look at the Wikipedia entry on Darwine makes me think it wouldn't work:

Pre-installed Vista on my laptop. I was concerned about it when i bought it. But it actually runs pretty well. The only problems i see with it is that you have to configure almost every program to be allowed within the firewall and that you have to run everything as administrator..even though your the administrator.

im not gonna be an average mac fan but im gonna say one thing....BILL GATES IS A THIEF!!!!! HE STOLE FROM APPLE AND OS X AND CALLED IT HIS OWN AND PUT THE WINDOWS LOGO ON AND CALLED IT VISTA!!!! but hey bill gates is good at one thing....copying apple's os's and then rittling it with a crap load of security flaws.... but eh thats how micr$oft roles!!!....they also tried to sue linux companies because linux "stole" ideas from them!!! thats such a crock of sh#! microsoft suing a small defenseless linux company trying to increase their monopoly, and its hypocrytical because thats how micro$oft got started BY STEALING APPLE'S OS'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was actually put in by developers, and was meant to be taken out. It turns out DOS (and then subsequent M$ O$s) was too crappy (oops.... Did I say crappy? I meant crappy) and needed a software interupt. Kind of like the reset button was left of the front of your computer because it was expected that you need it.
