Space Experiment

Hey everyone, I'm a senior in the "Project Lead the Way" program at my local highschool. Last year our school along with about 2 dozen others across the country were presented with the opportunity to send a research experiment into space via Up Aerospace.

The seniors of last year (2006) decided to go above and beyond a simple experiment, and work closely with Up Aerospace to design and manufacture the payload containers for each individual school on the rocket. This year, the senior class of 07 has decided to use our allocated experiment space to product test our payload containers (Dubbed T-Sats) by checking the rate of evacuation and air pressure inside a T-Sat for the duration of the launch, which is around 30 minutes.

The problem is, the class of 07 is relativly clueless as to where to start. We know that we need some sort of digital barometer that stores data to be read at a later time, however, with difficult size and weight requirments, and the fact that the unit needs to be powered on hours before launch, we are struggling to find something that can work. Being a FIRST competitor my first thought was to post here, hopefully you guys have some input or experience that you can share, anything is welcome

Also if you need any additional information please just let me know.
