If we purposely score two ringers on a leg....

does this mean that a team cannot take off the outermost one, thus protecting our 1 inner ringer scored?

Check the giant scoring matrix. The second one cancels out the first and neither ringer counts.

Got it! BUT, if i do it on purpose to block another teams alliance scoring, can they still be NOT allowed to take the outermost one off. If its true, then in actually, you created a spoiler that cant be removed.

Re: If we purposely score two ringers on a leg....

Yes it would be the same as spoiled, but what would you gain over just putting one on the spider leg? If you put two of your own on a spider leg, you get no points for the effort. If you only put one on, you have the chance to be part of a longer row, and score more points.

It just seems like a lot of work for no gain.

But, if you put a spoiler on first than your colored ring, than you score that leg and can't be spoiled. It's in the rules

although this strategy has been discussed, one shouldnt always rely on it, making this 'virtual keeper' makes you lose a spoiler, so now you have one, and the opposing alliance has 2, even if you use this 'keeper' to make a long row, opposing alliance has a better chance of spoiling it with two spoilers then you would have of spoiling their rows.
good strategy, but i dont think you will see it used commonly

Also, while you spoil on an empty row and go to get another tube for that row, i will come in and make that mine. there is the problem you gave me a permanent goal. You should just try and score one on a goal for now. Maybe down the line someone will think of a strategy with this, but i highly doubt it will be a winning one.

Re: If we purposely score two ringers on a leg....

The team that puts enough effort into thinking of scoring strategies, can only help.
These things can work during the playoffs once teams are set and everyone on the alliances knows everyones weaknesses and strengths......but yeah, this is why I posted the question.
