Re: TEAM 1482 LIFTS TWO
It appears that they have a piston mounted on the outside of each their "wings"... This should make the 'bot able to lift only one ally at a time.

Re: TEAM 1482 LIFTS TWO
Most impressive!
A few questions: What material is the platform surface? What bore and stroke are those cylinders? How much the bot weigh total as pictured? Do you score points for a 4" lift or a 12" lift? Last edited by sanddrag : 12-02-2007 at 01:58. |

Re: TEAM 1482 LIFTS TWO
do you guys have an arm?
that looks unstable because the other robots have to be presice at their manuverability in the 15 second ending period |

Re: TEAM 1482 LIFTS TWO
The material is aluminum with honeycomb sandwiched between the pieces. 1 and half inch bore on cylinders and 12 inch stroke we go for the 12 inch bonus points. As said previously we can lift either 1 or 2 robots for total of 30 or 60 points. our bot weighs 117 pounds (picture is missing part 2 of arm and the electronics but total all "stuff" weighs 117.) and yes we have a full arm that can reach all 3 levels of scoring. our arm is quite stable and it doesn't shake at all.

Re: TEAM 1482 LIFTS TWO
Ah, I see, so that's how you make weight. Your cylinders are illegal. They are not listed on the order form. I hope you know this. Any inspector who passes it should be fired.

Re: TEAM 1482 LIFTS TWO
ok so i installed the pneumatics so they were vertical 4 on each corner of the bot and one on each wing than we made feet for the cylinders and toed in the walls that gives us 2 1/2'' to start with 1/2 for the wall and 2 from the ground than we go up 11''

Re: TEAM 1482 LIFTS TWO
They could be mounted 2 1/2 inches below the surface of the lift...

Re: TEAM 1482 LIFTS TWO
I think the biggest question is HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?! We had a similar idea but ditched it when we found out the air cylinders couldnt fill up the pistons to full preasure and that the compressor took time to get the last part up. For it to be really great and functional, i believe it has to go up in under 3 seconds
or at least under 5 seconds![]() |
